Capital Briefs: Ludwig Seeks Examiner-Auditor Cooperation

On Thursday, Mr. Ludwig announced plans for a pilot program in which examiners and auditors at 10 large banks would share examining and auditing plans. The agency is looking for 10 banks to volunteer. By working together, auditors and examiners could reduce regulatory burden on banks, Mr. Ludwig said in a speech at the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants' annual banking conference here. "Increased cooperation and efficiency is an obligation examiners and auditors share," he said.
