Card Briefs: Processing Association Plans Net Data Access

The Southeast Bankcard Association plans to offer Internet access to card data through a service from First Data Direct Banking.

The processing association has signed up for the First Data Corp. division's NetPrecision, which gives cardholders on-line access to account balances, customer service, and other features.

The 60 banks, credit unions, and thrifts using Southeast Bankcard can offer the service under their own names or under the association's SEBA brand.

Jim Schwartz, the president of Southeast Bankcard, said, "The ability to look at current credit card data in the privacy of their own homes offers just one more way our members will be able to enhance their reputation for personal service with their customers."
