Citi Goes Mobile to Cardholders

Citigroup Inc. has introduced a mobile banking service for its credit card customers.

Citi said in August that it would offer mobile banking software from Qualcomm Inc.'s Firethorn Holdings LLC this year to let cardholders keep track of account activity; on Tuesday, it announced the software's availability to Citi customers who use AT&T Inc. or Verizon Wireless.

Cardholders can use the software to check balances, see how much credit is available, review recent transactions, and get information on rewards.

Citi offers several services through mobile phones. The New York banking company has a mobile banking service for its deposit account holders, using software from mFoundry Inc., and a person-to-person mobile transfer service, using Obopay Inc.'s technology.
