Citi Hires B of A Exec for Corporate Banking Post in Canada

Citigroup named Bank of America's Daljeet Lamba as managing director of corporate banking in Canada.

Lamba will lead the bank's business and client-development strategies in that country, New York-based Citigroup said Tuesday in a statement. He earlier worked at Citigroup in Canada before joining Bank of America in 2009.

"We are pleased to welcome Mr. Lamba back to Citi," said John Hastings, chief executive officer of the bank's Canada operations. "His connectivity and expertise will ensure we continue to enhance our abilities to bring first-class products and service to our institutional clients."

Lamba most recently was a managing director of global corporate and investment banking at Bank of America's Merrill Lynch unit in Canada. Citigroup employs 2,700 people in consumer and institutional banking in Canada, with offices in Toronto, Montreal and Calgary, according to the statement.
