Colombia's Antitrust Watchdog Fines Bancolombia $106,000

BOGOTA (Dow Jones)--Colombia's antitrust watchdog imposed a fine of 207million Colombian pesos ( $106,000) on the country's largest bank, Bancolombia (CIB), the bank said Friday in a statement.

The bank said it was fined in connection with a request for information madein an administrative proceeding in which Bancolombia wasn't involved, the bankadded.

Bancolombia said the decision could be appealed.

This is the fifth fine Colombian regulators imposed on Bancolombia so far thisyear.

The country's security regulator has imposed four other fines on the bank fora total of COP421 million. The bank said at the time it would appeal thosefines.

Bancolombia's shares gained 0.8% on Friday to end at COP16,900. The bankannounced the fine after the market had closed.
