Spectrem Group Inc. said affluent investors' confidence fell to its lowest level since the Chicago research company began conducting its monthly survey.
The Spectrem Affluent Investor Index fell 8 points last month, to minus-30, the company said last week.
The previous record low for the index was minus-22 in September. It remains in "mildly bearish" territory, but just one point above "bearish," Spectrem said.
The Spectrem Millionaire Investor Index fell 6 points, to a record low of minus-24, a mildly bearish reading. Its previous low was minus-18 in September.
The Affluent Investor Index is based on 250 monthly interviews with the financial decision-makers in households with $500,000 or more in investable assets.
The Millionaire Investor Index is based on a subset of the overall survey group.
