CVB Financial Hires Ex-BBVA Exec as Credit Chief

CVB Financial in Ontario, Calif., has hired a former regional bank executive to be its chief credit officer.

The $7.9 billion-asset holding company for Citizens Business Bank said David Farnsworth will start as credit chief of both entities on July 18. He will succeed James Dowd, who retired on July 1.

Farnsworth was executive vice president of global risk management and national head of commercial real estate credit risk at the $87 billion-asset BBVA Compass from 2006 to 2015, according to his LinkedIn profile. Farnsworth started his career with KeyBank in 1984 and later held senior positions with U.S. Bank and AmSouth Bank.

“We are pleased to be able to find and hire a [chief credit officer] with significant leadership experience at both line and credit management positions,” Chief Executive Chris Myers said in a news release Thursday.
