Duncan Financial Group LLC, a securities and investment advisory services company in North Huntington, Pa., hired William J. Shelow Jr. as the president of its Virginia subsidiary Atlantic Financial Group LLC.
Mr. Shelow had been the president and chief operating officer of Harleysville Life Insurance Co. in Harleysville, Pa., for the past five years.
Atlantic Financial Group was established in 1990. It has offices in Richmond, Va., Asheville, N.C., and North Huntington and plans to expand over the next 18 months into Indiana and Ohio. The full-service, independent brokerage general agency serving financial professionals in the Middle Atlantic and Southeast.
Mr. Shelow had been with Harleysville Life since 1983. He had been its president and chief operating officer since 2003.
He has also worked for Swigart Associates. He began his career as an agent for Columbus Mutual Life Insurance Co.
