Taylor Capital Group Inc. of Rosemont, Ill., has hired Daniel C. Stevens as its chief financial officer.
Mr. Stevens had been the CFO of UMB Financial Corp., an $8 billion-asset bank holding company in Kansas City, Mo., since 2001. Before that he had been the CFO of Euronet Worldwide, a financial software and transaction processor in Leawood, Kan.
Taylor Capital Group owns Cole Taylor Bank, which has $2.8 billion of assets.
S.Y. Bancorp Inc. of Louisville has named Carl G. Herde to its board. The company owns Stock Yards Bank and Trust Co., which has $1.2 billion of assets.Mr. Herde is the vice president of finance and the chief financial officer of Baptist Healthcare System Inc., a Louisville company that owns six hospitals. S.Y.'s board named him as the financial expert on its audit committee.
Northeast Indiana Bancorp of Huntington said Michael S. Zahn will become the president of its $229 million-asset First Federal Savings Bank on Jan. 1, succeeding his father, Stephen E. Zahn.Michael Zahn has been a senior vice president of the bank since 2000 and an employee since 1996. His father will remain the chairman and chief executive officer of the parent company and the bank.
Old National Bancorp of Evansville, Ind., has promoted Jeffrey L. Knight from senior to executive vice president and named him its chief legal counsel.Mr. Knight had been its general counsel since joining the $9 billion-asset company in 1993. He was named a senior vice president in 2001.
MIDDLE ATLANTICFlushing Financial Corp. of New York said that John R. Buran will succeed Michael J. Hegarty as the president and chief executive officer of the company and its $2 billion-asset Flushing Savings Bank on June 30.
Mr. Buran has been their chief operating officer and an executive vice president and since joining them in 2001.
In the four years before that he had been the executive vice president of the New York metro division of Fleet Bank NA, running more than 170 branches. (Bank of America Corp. bought the parent FleetBoston Financial Corp. in April.)
He had come to Fleet in 1996 from National Westminster Bancorp of Jersey City, which Fleet bought that year. Since 1994 he had been the division head, retail services, of Natwest's consumer banking group and a senior vice president, managing back-office operations for the bank's 300 branches. (Royal Bank of Scotland bought the parent National Westminster Bank of London in 2000.)
Seventeen years of his banking career were with Citibank, where he rose to vice president, New York investment sales, and earlier ran Long Island and Westchester branches and managed a business lending unit.
Mr. Hegarty, who joined Flushing Financial in 1995 as its chief operating officer, will remain a director of the company and the bank.
Flushing Financial has also named Steven J. D'Iorio and Donna M. O'Brien to its board.
Mr. D'Iorio is the senior director of real estate and construction for Time Warner Inc. of New York.
Ms. O'Brien is the chief administrative officer and an executive vice president at Catholic Health Services of Long Island, a Rockville Centre company that owns five hospitals.
