MB Financial Inc. of Chicago has hired Paul Moffatt as the vice president of commercial banking of its MB Financial Bank.

Mr. Moffatt was an assistant vice president of metropolitan and commercial banking at Bank of America Corp., which he joined when it bought his previous employer, LaSalle Bank. Before that he had been a credit trainee and analyst at LaSalle.

MB Financial has $8.3 billion of assets.


MIDDLE ATLANTICSterling National Bank of New York has hired Mary Winfield, Scott McGrath, and Lessette Toro as vice presidents.

Ms. Winfield will be a branch manager at the Seventh Avenue location for the bank, a $2.1 billion-asset unit of Sterling Bancorp.

She will oversee new client relationships in the Manhattan business community.

Mr. McGrath will be a business development officer at Sterling National's Woodbury branch. He had been a group director and senior vice president at Signature Bank of Long Island City since 2005.

Before that he had been a vice president and branch manager at HSBC Bank USA in Queens since 1996.

Ms. Toro will be a business development officer at Sterling National's Yonkers branch. She will focus primarily on business opportunities with law and accounting firms and local business owners in Westchester County.


SOUTHEASTSuperior Bancorp of Birmingham, Ala., has hired James A. White as its executive vice president and chief administrative officer.

Mr. White was most recently the chief financial officer at BankAtlantic Bancorp Inc., where he retired last year. Before that he had been the CFO of BOK Financial Corp. Before that he had been the CFO and chief executive officer at First National Bank and Trust of Tulsa.

Superior Bancorp has $3 billion of assets.

 


 PrivateBancorp Inc. of Chicago has hired Robert G. Long as an associate managing director in the commercial banking group at its PrivateBank Georgia.

Mr. Long was a senior commercial relationship manager at Regions Bank. He will be based in Norcross.

PrivateBancorp has $7.5 billion of assets.


SOUTHWESTFirst Financial Bankshares Inc. of Abilene, Tex., has hired Randy K. Christian as its senior vice president of marketing and advertising.

Mr. Christian was the president and chief executive officer of RC&P Marketing, Advertising, and Public Relations.

First Financial has $3.1 billion of assets.
