Camco Financial Corp. of Cambridge, Ohio, has hired Laurence S. Christ as senior vice president and chief credit officer.

Christ had been the director of real estate investment lending with Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc.'s commercial finance business in Chicago since 2006.

Before that he had been the vice president and chief credit officer for Fifth Third Bancorp since 2001.

Earlier he was a vice president and credit approval officer in Columbus, Ohio, for Bank One, where he had worked since 1988.

Camco has $998 million of assets.


SOUTHWESTPlainsCapital Bank of Lubbock has hired Jack Roney as senior vice president of commercial lending and Mike Caffey as senior vice president of the wealth management group.

Roney was a commercial lender at Sterling Bank in Houston. Before that he was a senior vice president and head of commercial banking in San Antonio at Bank One.

Earlier he was a senior vice president and manager of the energy department at Frost National Bank. He is based in San Antonio.

Caffey was a senior vice president and employee benefits manager at First Financial Trust Bank in Abilene.

Before that he was a trust officer for private client services at Wells Fargo & Co. in Austin. Earlier he worked in trust operations for Frost National. He is based in Lubbock.

PlainsCapital has $3.9 billion of assets.


SOUTHEASTSandy Spring Bank of Olney, Md., has hired Patrick Shurney as senior vice president and market head of the Chesapeake region, which includes Anne Arundel and Howard counties.

Shurney was a senior vice president of commercial banking for Columbia Bank in Maryland.

Before that he was the vice president of commercial banking.

Sandy Spring Bank is a $3.3 billion-asset unit of Sandy Spring Bancorp Inc.


WESTSeacoast Commerce Bank of Chula Vista, Calif., has hired Jon M. Enochs as the senior vice president of depository services in its homeowners association and property management service group.

Enochs was a vice president and the homeowners association depository services manager for 1st Centennial Bank in Escondido.

Seacoast Commerce has $81 million of assets.
