Corus Bancshares Inc. in Chicago has promoted John Barkidjija to executive vice president of commercial real estate and chief credit risk officer.

Barkidjija was a senior vice president who oversaw construction, development and bridge loans for the $8.3 billion-asset company. Before that he was a first vice president. He joined Corus in 1995 in its commercial real estate department.

 


 Amcore Bank in Rockford, Ill., has promoted Ted Kopczynski to senior vice president and chief credit officer.

Kopczynski joined the $5 billion-asset bank in November as a vice president and loan review manager. Before that he was a senior credit manager at Citigroup Inc. Earlier he worked for the global wealth management division of UBS AG.


MIDDLE ATLANTICInvestors Savings Bank in Short Hills, N.J., has hired Erik L. Larsen as the vice president of its business lending group.

Larsen had been a vice president and sales manager at Bank of America Corp. since 2000. Before that he was a commercial lending officer at Midatlantic National Bank, which PNC Financial Services Group Inc. bought in 1991.

Investors Savings is a $7.1. billion-asset unit of Investors Bancorp.

 


 S&T Bancorp Inc. in Indiana, Pa., has hired LaDawn Yesho as a senior vice president and the chief audit executive.

Yesho was a vice president and financial manager at PNC Financial Services Group Inc. where she oversaw compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Before that she was an audit senior manager at Ernst & Young LLP.

S&T has $4.4 billion of assets.

 


 Amalgamated Bank in New York has promoted Anthony Pellecchia to director of consultant relations and sales in its institutional asset management division.

Pellecchia is to oversee expansion of the $4.4 billion-asset bank's relationships with pension consultants and the Taft-Hartley and public benefit plans. He had been the executive vice president and director of the bank's trust and investment services group since 2007 and, before that, a senior vice president in the investment firm Callan Associates Inc. since 1999.

The bank said Pellecchia is to step down as head of its trust group once it finds a successor.


NEW ENGLANDPeople's United Bank in Bridgeport, Conn., has hired Chantal Simon as executive vice president and chief risk officer.

Simon was chief risk officer and head of risk management at Merrill Lynch & Co.'s banks in the United States and the Cayman Islands. She had worked for the company since 1989 when she joined its fixed-income origination department. Before that she worked for Lazard Freres & Co.


SOUTHEASTCommunity Capital Bancshares Inc. in Albany, Ga., has hired James L. Flatt as its president and chief executive officer and for the same roles at its AB&T National Bank.

Flatt was the president of Regions Financial Corp.'s South Carolina and southern Georgia operations; he had joined Regions in 1998 when it bought his previous employer, First State Bank and Trust Co. in Albany. Before the purchase he was First State's chief operating officer.

Community Capital has $191 million of assets.


SOUTHWESTPlainsCapital Bank in Lubbock, Texas, has hired Jim Krieger as a vice president and the fiduciary compliance officer and Ross Miller as senior vice president of commercial lending.

Krieger was counsel at Hudson & Keyse LLP where he oversaw the litigation, trial and appeals of the firm's Texas cases. Before that he was a vice president and the Dallas fiduciary compliance officer at Bank of America Corp.

Miller was a senior vice president and senior relationship manager at Wachovia Corp.

PlainsCapital also hired Cynthia S. Buhr as an assistant general counsel.

Buhr was associate general counsel at Southwest Airlines Co. and, before that, a litigation associate at Carrington, Coleman, Sloman and Blumenthal LLP in Dallas.

PlainsCapital has $3.9 billion of assets.
