Coconut Grove Bankshares Inc. of Miami has hired Robert Coords as president and chief executive officer of the company and its Coconut Grove Bank.

Coords had been the chief risk officer of SunTrust Banks Inc. since 2004. Before that he was the chief efficiency and quality officer of SunTrust since 2000. Earlier he was the chairman and chief executive officer of SunTrust Bank, which he joined as its president in 1983.

Coconut Grove Bankshares has $760 million of assets.

 


 Atlantic Coast Federal Corp. of Waycross, Ga., said Dawna R. Miller has resigned as senior vice president and chief financial officer of the company and its Atlantic Coast Bank.

Miller had been a senior vice president and the CFO of the $995 million-asset company since May 2007 and of the bank since March 2007. Before that she had been an independent business consultant since 2005. Earlier she worked for National Australia Bank Ltd.

She left Atlantic Coast to pursue other opportunities, the company said.

Thomas B. Wagers Sr. succeeded Miller as senior vice president and CFO of the company and its bank. He had been the chief operating officer of Atlantic Coast Bank since 2006. He joined the bank in 2004 as its vice president of finance. Earlier he had been an independent accounting consultant since 2002.
