First Financial Bancorp in Cincinnati has hired Al Roszczyk as the president for its Indiana market.

Roszczyk was a senior vice president at Irwin Union Bank and Trust Co. in Columbus, Ind.

First Financial has $3.8 billion of assets.


MIDDLE ATLANTICSterling National Bank in New York has hired Angelo J. Frangella for the newly created post of professional banking division manager.

It also has hired Steven Z. Reisner and Joanne Gagliardi as business development officers in this division, which caters to the professional services sector, including health-care, law, finance, accounting and real estate firms.

As its manager, Frangella is to lead the expanded division. He has more than 26 years of banking experience. Before joining Sterling, he held senior management posts at large banking companies in the New York market, most recently HSBC Holdings PLC.

Reisner, who has 25 years' experience in business development, joined Sterling from Bank Leumi. He is to be based in Manhattan.

Gagliardi has 22 years' experience in business development at JPMorgan Chase & Co. She is to be based on Long Island.

The $2.1 billion-asset Sterling National is a unit of Sterling Bancorp.

 


 Community Mutual Savings Bank in Mount Vernon, N.Y., has hired Raymond E. Sacher as the vice president of small-business and commercial lending.

Sacher was a vice president and commercial lending officer at Key Bank, which he joined when it bought his previous employer, Union State Bank. Before that he was a vice president and relationship manager at Bank of New York.

Community Mutual has $211 million of assets.


SOUTHWESTEncore Bank in Houston has hired Preston Moore as its president and chief executive officer and Carmen Jordan as its chief lending officer.

Moore was an executive vice president and the manager of the investment division at Amegy Bank of Texas.

Jordan was a senior vice president and the manager of the corporate energy services division at Amegy.

The $1.6 billion-asset Encore is a unit of Encore Bancshares Inc.


WESTHeritage Commerce Corp. in San Jose has hired Dan T. Kawamoto as its chief administrative officer.

Kawamoto was the chief financial officer at 1st Century Bancshares. Before that, he was the executive vice president of retail banking for Comerica Bank's western market. Earlier he had been the chief financial officer at Comerica Bank California and Plaza Bank of Commerce.

Before his shift to banking, he was an audit partner at Ernst & Young.

In all, he has 17 years in banking and 18 years in public accounting.

The $1.5 billion-asset Heritage is the parent of Heritage Bank of Commerce.

 


 Tamalpais Bank in San Rafael, Calif., has promoted Jamie Williams to president.

Williams was an executive vice president at the $699 million-asset bank and helped carry out its transition from wholesale banking to business banking.

In his new role Williams will continue to focus on expanding the business banking strategy in addition to managing retail branches, operations and marketing.

Mark Garwood, Williams' predecessor as president, is to remain the bank's chairman and chief executive officer. He also remains the president and CEO of the bank's parent company, Tamalpais Bancorp.

Williams has more than two decades of banking experience. He was the founder, president and CEO of Greater Bay Bank Marin. He also has held senior management posts at Westamerica Bank, Wells Fargo Bank and Union Bank.

 


 Western Commercial Bank in Woodland Hills, Calif., has hired Robert W. Kagy as a senior vice president and regional manager.

Kagy has held senior management posts at several local banks during the past 30 years, most recently at First Private Bank and Trust and Encino State Bank. He also was the founding chief executive officer of American West Bank, which sold itself to U.S. Bank in 1996.

Western Commercial Bank has $123 million of assets and is a unit of WCB Holdings Inc.
