Bank of America Corp. has promoted John F. Weeks to New Hampshire president.
He will succeed Michael C. Whitney, who will retire Dec. 31 after 30 years in the financial services industry. He has been the New Hampshire president since 1992.
Mr. Weeks will remain the market executive for U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management in New Hampshire and Maine.
B of A also has hired Mark G. Sander as its head of business banking for the Midwest region.
He will be based in Chicago and will report to David Darnell, the global commercial banking president.
Most recently Mr. Sander was the head of commercial banking and the North American sectors group for LaSalle Bank Corp., which B of A bought Oct. 1.
MIDDLE ATLANTICNew York Life Insurance Co. has promoted Eileen T. Slevin to chief information officer.
She will report to Frank Boccio, an executive vice president and the chief administrative officer.
As the chief information officer, Ms. Slevin will be in charge of managing the business resilience and corporate Internet strategic areas.
She was a senior vice president in the corporate information department.
SOUTHEASTThe Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta has hired Arthur Fleming as a first vice president and the director of its community investment services department.
Before joining the Atlanta bank, Mr. Fleming was an executive vice president and the chief lending and investment officer at Opportunity Finance Network in Philadelphia, where he was in charge of the financial services unit.
U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management has named Gary M. Gore a market executive for Virginia.
He will be based in Richmond and will report to Doug DiVirgilio, the Southeast division executive for the Bank of America Corp. unit.
Mr. Gore has 17 years of financial services experience. He was a market executive in Virginia and North Carolina for B of A's global corporate and investment banking unit.
BB&T Corp. has hired Mike Woody as a sales and service leader for the private financial services unit of its wealth management division in Charlotte.
He will report to David Fisher, the director of BB&T Wealth Management.
Mr. Woody has 30 years of financial experience. He was the director of strategic initiatives for South Financial Group in Greenville, S.C.
