MIDDLE ATLANTIC

UBS AG has hired Janine McGrath and Gregory Feller as managing directors.

Both executives will be based in New York.

Ms. McGrath will be a director of the technology, media, and telecommunications banking group in UBS' investment banking department.

She had been a managing director and senior coverage banker for the media sector at Lehman Brothers since 2004. Before that she had worked in the media and communications department of Donaldson, Lufkin, & Jenrette Inc. since 1995.

She will report to Jeffrey Sine, the vice chairman of the investment banking department and global head of technology, media, and telecommunications.

Mr. Feller will be a director in UBS' technology banking group.

He held a position similar to Ms. McGrath's in Lehman's technology banking group.

 


 Capital One Financial Corp. of McLean, Va., has put Doug Kennedy in charge of its middle-market and corporate banking business in New York.

Mr. Kennedy will remain the head of middle-market and corporate banking in New Jersey, a position he has held since 2004.

As the head of the New York business, he will succeed Carmen Mastroianni, who will retire at yearend after a transitional period.

Mr. Kennedy joined Capital One last year, when it acquired his previous employer, North Fork Bank. Before joining North Fork he had run Bank of America Corp.'s middle-market business in New York, Long Island, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

 


 Deutsche Bank Securities Inc. of New York has promoted Paul Stefanick to global head of the industrials group.

Mr. Stefanick will remain a managing director. He had been the chairman of global mergers and acquisitions since 2005. Before that he had worked in the mergers and acquisitions business of Merrill Lynch & Co. since 1988.

He will join the Deutsche Bank AG unit in January.


INTERNATIONALBNP Paribas SA has promoted Gautier Dirkx to president and chief executive officer of its Canadian arm.

Mr. Dirkx will be based in New York. He was the deputy global head of commodity finance in Paris.

Before that he had been the global head of credit for energy, commodities, export, and project finance since 2000.He joined BNP Paribas in 1997 as the senior credit officer for structured finance.

He has also worked for Banque Indosuez in Paris and SBC Warburg in London.
