The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. is planning to host eight telephone seminars for bankers this fall on its rules for deposit coverage.
The free seminars are designed to help bank employees determine a customer's deposit coverage.
The plan is likely a response to complaints after some bank failures that employees of the institution misstated how much coverage each depositor had.
The seminars will be held Sept. 17 to Nov. 4 and will be available to all FDIC-insured banks and thrifts.
