Fidelity Starts Fund for International Tilt

Fidelity Investments said that it had introduced an international equity fund.

The Fidelity Emerging Europe, Middle East, Africa Fund, which is to be offered in both retail and adviser share classes, seeks capital appreciation and normally invests at least 80% of its assets in securities of emerging European, Middle Eastern, and African companies and other investments that are tied economically to these regions.

The fund, introduced Wednesday, is benchmarked against the MSCI Emerging Markets Europe, Middle East, and Africa Index.

Adam Kutas, a 12-year Fidelity veteran who previously co-managed the Fidelity Latin America Fund, manages the new portfolio from Fidelity Management and Research Co.'s London office.

Fidelity, which is based in Boston, had $3.3 trillion of assets under custody and more than $1.5 trillion under management at April 30.
