Pyramis Global Advisors, a Boston unit of Fidelity Investments Co., has hired Patrick J. McNelis as executive vice president of global sales and distribution.
Mr. McNelis will oversee direct sales, the client services and consultant relations groups, and sales channel services.
He had been an executive director and the head of institutional advisory services for Principal Global Investors, a unit of Principal Financial Services Inc. of Des Moines.
Previously, Mr. McNelis was a managing director and the head of the institutional advisory services business in the Americas for Citigroup Asset Management in New York.
Pyramis, which announced the hiring Tuesday, had $164 billion of assets under management as of Dec. 31.
