Fiserv Inc. has added account-to-account transfers and same-day bill payments to the CheckFree RXP software it offers to banks.
The Brookfield, Wis., vendor said the new features would expand the ability of its clients to generate fee revenue from the platform.
"Financial institutions can win more transactions by offering a wider set of payment services," Tony Catalfano, the division president for electronic payments at Fiserv, said in a press release Wednesday.
With the transfer feature, customers of Fiserv bank clients can move funds into and out of checking, savings and money market accounts at the same financial institution or between accounts at separate institutions.
The same-day bill-payment feature adds a capability that Fiserv said is typically only available through biller direct websites and will include auto, mortgage, credit card and other common household expenses.
