PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Fleet Financial Group Inc. introduced a new telephone bill-paying service and has enhanced its ATM services.

The new service, called Fleet Bill-Payer, expands the 24-hour capabilities of the Fleet Answer Center, Fleet's telephone-based service center.

The $48 billion-asset bank said in a release that after a free three-month introductory period, the monthly fee for the bill payer service will be a flat $4.95, with no additional fees for each transaction. The services Fleet is adding to its ATM machines include a printed statement for checking, money market, and regular savings accounts.
