Franklin Templeton Starts a Core Fund

Franklin Templeton Investments has introduced the Franklin Focused Core Equity Fund for U.S. investors.

The Franklin Resources Inc. unit said last week that the fund will seek capital appreciation by assembling a portfolio of 30 to 40 securities of primarily large U.S. companies, across the style spectrum from value to growth.

Under normal market conditions, the fund will invest at least 80% of its net assets in equity securities, Franklin Templeton said.
