Salem Five Cents Savings Bank has plugged into Vertigo Development Group's One-on-One Banking application. The bank-branded program offers bank customers financial advice and suggests product acquisitions. The I-casting service pushes advertising and information onto users' desktops. A third segment pushes personalized research and quotes.

CommerceNet

CommerceNet is scheduled to launch an EC pilot this month. It's anchored by the Bethesda-Chevy Chase, MD, Chamber of Commerce and will generate market models for regional EC by small and medium-sized companies. Participants will conduct a bevy of electronic transactions. NDS Americas will use the pilot to demonstrate smart cards in a large-scale EC system.

Busey e-bank

As of last month, the Champaign, IL-based institution is the first community bank to launch a complete Web bank. Busey e-bank gives customers on-line access to deposit, credit card and loan accounts. Customers can conduct funds transfers and electronic bill pay. Also available: stock quotes, financial planning help, a merchant mall and e-mail updates on rate information.
