After years of catering to affluent clients at commercial banks, Hans P. Ziegier is moving to one of the nation's oldest money management firms.

Mr. Ziergier was recently named president of Stein Roe & Farnham Investment Counsel, a unit of Stein Roe & Farnham that specializes in investment management for wealthy individuals.

Until joining the Chicago-based firm about two weeks ago, Mr. Ziegier was President and CEO of Pitcairn Financial Management Group in Jenkintown, Pa.

The company announced last year that its elite Pitcairn Trust subsidiary would begin shifting its book of business to First Fidelity Bancorp., Lawrenceville, N.J.,
