Not surprisingly, Elizabeth Warren's bid to represent Massachusetts in the Senate is attracting Democratic support well beyond her small state.

Warren's campaign made headlines last week for raising over $3 million, including contributions from some heavy-hitters in the worlds of politics, showbiz and finance. She received large donations from not only singer Barbara Streisand and DreamWorks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg, but also from billionaire financier and activist George Soros and members of his family.

She also raked in donations from the political action committees of Sens. Harry Reid and Dick Durbin, who are, respectively, the Senate majority leader and the majority whip.

Other notable D.C.-area donors include: Christina Romer, the former chairman of the White House Council of Economic Advisers, who gave $500; and Jonathan Yarowsky, a partner with Patton Boggs LLP and former special associate counsel in the Clinton White House, who gave $2500.
