HSA Bank Adds a Sales VP

HSA Bank, a subsidiary of Waterbury, Conn.'s Webster Financial Corp., has appointed Wendy Williams vice president of brokerage sales.

Ms. Williams, whose hiring was announced Thursday, joins HSA Bank with nearly eight years of experience in the insurance and financial services industries. She was a sales director of national broker accounts for Exante Financial Services, a rival of HSA Bank in the health savings account business.

Kevin Robertson, the vice president of national sales at HSA Bank, said the company formed a relationship last year with Pershing LLC, a unit of Bank of New York Mellon Corp., to supply health savings account administration services to its broker-dealers. Ms. Williams will work with these broker-dealers, he said, to educate their staff and investment professionals about health savings accounts and the services offered by HSA Bank.

Webster, had $16.8 billion of assets at Sept. 30. It offers business and consumer banking, mortgages, insurance, financial planning, and trust and investment services.
