First Chicago NBD Corp.'s decision to build its presence in Southeast Asia has prompted management changes.

Paul McGonagle, formerly the head of country and industry risk management for the company in Chicago, was named head of the Southeast Asia region. Replacing him in Chicago is Britt Swofford, a senior vice president who headed foreign exchange trading.

Peter Mesrobian, a senior vice president and former head of the derivatives products group in London, replaces Mr. Swofford as global head of foreign exchange in Chicago. Taking Mr. Mesrobian's place as head of derivatives products in London will be Andrew Brown, who was promoted to senior vice president last month.
