In Brief: Acordia Purchases an Agency in Ohio

Acordia Inc., a Wells Fargo & Co. subsidiary that is the largest bank-owned insurance brokerage in the United States, has announced the purchase of M.J. Beaven Agency Inc. in Copley, Ohio.

The deal closed Dec. 1, the company said on Monday, but it declined to disclose the terms.

M.J. Beaven Agency, founded by Michael Beaven, has sold insurance to small commercial clients since 2000 in the Cleveland and Akron, Ohio, areas. Acordia, which is based in Chicago, has a Cleveland office.
