Aon Consulting Worldwide announced Tuesday that it had promoted the head of its defined contribution practice to executive vice president and southeast region head.
In her new role, which she is to begin Jan. 1, Susan Alford is to be responsible for account management and business development throughout the region. The Chicago-based human resources and management consulting firm is a unit of Aon Corp., a Top Five insurance brokerage.
Ms. Alford was most recently the head of Aon Consulting's Atlanta office and national defined contribution practice leader. She works with plan sponsors on the design, implementation, and administration of defined contribution plans, including 401(k)s and ESOPs.
She has also been responsible for developing and marketing Aon's integrated retirement services. In her new role, Ms. Alford is to remain in Atlanta.
Aon Consulting's southeast region is Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and Florida.
