In Brief: Atlanta Internet Bank Taking Parent's Name

Atlanta Internet Bank is changing its name to Net.Bank.

Company officials said the new name would conform with that of the holding company, Net.Bank Inc., and better reflect its national and international scope.

Along with the change, the company will conduct a corporate identity campaign that will include a redesigned Web site and replacement of logos on statements, debit and credit cards, stationery, and advertising.

"We think it is appropriate to give the bank a name that reflects its expansive reach through the Internet and ties back to our holding company," said D.R. Grimes, chief executive officer.

Net.Bank Inc. reported its first profit in the second quarter and recently announced the addition of on-line brokerage services and mortgage lending.
