The company's private bank said its family wealth advisers group now operates in seven major metropolitan areas in the United States.

"The appointment of this highly experienced team concludes on schedule the first stage of our national rollout," Alan Rappaport, the group's president, said in a press release.

In Boston, Ellen Shain, a senior wealth adviser, leads an integrated team of bankers and client-service specialists, the bank said. The team includes Michael Monahan, a portfolio manager; Carl Johnson, a sales and service associate; and Cynthia David, a relationship associate. Additional appointments are to be announced soon.

The family wealth advisers group is headquartered in New York City; it was started last April and, besides New York and Boston, has teams in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, and Dallas.
