In Brief: BankAmerica Mortgage Hires Production Exec

UNIONDALE, N.Y. - BankAmerica Mortgage has named John Gray production executive for its Northeast region. He will be responsible for sales and operations in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Florida.

He had been manager of Wells Fargo Bank's asset recovery division.

The company announced separately in San Francisco that it had hired Muir Atherton to head secondary marketing.

He will oversee asset sales and acquisitions, operations, pricing, and management of pipeline risk.

Most recently, he was senior vice president for secondary marketing, product development, and loan operations for American Residential Mortgage Corp., La Jolla, Calif. American has been taken over by Chase Manhattan Corp., New York.

Earlier, he was a vice president at Metmor Financial Corp. in Los Angeles.

The mortgage unit originates home loans from offices in 13 states and through a wholesale operation with correspondents in 39 states.
