Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. announced the hiring Monday of Mark Rhodes as a senior managing director and executive director in the private-client services division.

Mr. Rhodes, who has more than 20 years' experience in the brokerage business, is to oversee Bear Stearns' private-client services in Dallas. He joined the New York-based firm after more than two decades at Merrill Lynch & Co., where he was a branch manager and eventually the head of several offices in the Southwest. He has focused on private-client, middle-market, and nonresident-alien business models.
