Bank of New York Co.'s investment management arm announced Monday that it had formed a consultant relations team.
James. J. Barrett was hired by BNY Asset Management Co. as a managing director of institutional sales and marketing to run the group. Mr. Barrett had worked for Northern Trust Global Investments Inc. in Chicago, where he was responsible for business development, consultant relations, and client service.
BNY Asset Management hired three executives and promoted a fourth to fill out the group. James F. Woods Jr., a senior vice president for Pilgrim Baxter & Associates Ltd. of Wayne, Pa., was named a managing director for institutional investment consulting firms. M. Randall Strickland, a consultant relations manager for American Century Investments, was hired as a managing director of investment management relationships for institutional consultants. Michael M. Russo, a manager of investment analytics at John A. Levin & Co., was named manager of investment analytics.
Jason Soto, with BNY Asset Management since 2000, was promoted to vice president of consultant outreach, communications, and due diligence.
