In Brief: BT Veteran to Run State St. Louis Office

BOSTON - State Street Corp. said Monday that it has hired a former Bankers Trust executive as head of an expanded St. Louis office.

Kevin Jones was a director responsible for regional offices in Dallas, Los Angeles, and St. Louis for Bankers Trust Co., now Deutsche Bank. He will lead a team of six industry veterans and will report to Patrick Centanni, senior vice president at State Street.

State Street said the office will primarily serve its middle-market trust and custody business.

Other members of the team joining State Street include Norine Flaherty, Claire Douglass, and David Dahm, each of whom has over 20 experience in the institutional trust business, previously working for Boatmen's Trust Co., State Street said.

"The development of our St. Louis office is part of State Street's strategic plan to grow its middle-market business regionally," said Joseph Antonellis, executive vice president of State Street. "The Midwest is an important market for State Street, and the St. Louis office will serve as a vital part of our growth in the region."

The St. Louis office is the third regional office to open in the past year to serve the middle-market business. State Street recently opened offices in Winston-Salem, N.C., and Atlanta to service the institutional trust and custody business it acquired from Wachovia Corp. in October.
