40/86 Advisors Inc., a Carmel, Ind., fixed-income asset manager and investment adviser, has made two hires for its investment team.

The Conseco Inc. subsidiary said Monday that it hired David J. Miller as a vice president and portfolio manager of its insurance group and David Polson as an assistant vice president and research analyst covering the insurance and banking and finance sectors.
Mr. Miller joined 40/86 from Lincoln National Corp., where he was a senior investment officer and portfolio manager.
Mr. Polson was an associate in the fixed-income research department for Credit Suisse First Boston Corp. 40/86 Advisors has $25 billion in assets under management.
