Peter Presperin, the executive vice president and chief financial officer of Fireman's Fund Insurance Co., has left the company to pursue new opportunities.

A successor for the CFO post is expected to be announced shortly, the company said Thursday.
Mr. Presperin joined Fireman's Fund in 2003 as the head of the discontinued operations unit. In January he was named CFO and joined the board of directors.
Fireman's Fund is a property and casualty insurance company that sells personal, commercial, marine, excess and surplus lines, and agribusiness coverage. It is a member of the Allianz Group, a provider of property and casualty insurance and other financial services.
