Fiserv Inc. announced Monday that it had bought CareGain Inc. in order to manage consumer-directed health plans and related health-care savings accounts.
CareGain is to operate as a business unit of Fiserv Health in Brookfield, Wis., a provider of health plan administration and business process outsourcing services to employers and health plans. The deal's terms were not disclosed.
East Windsor, N.J.-based CareGain offers an integrated approach to administering consumer-directed health-care products such as health savings, flexible spending, and health reimbursement accounts. Its technology gives health plan administrators an integrated platform and offers consumers access to timely and relevant information, Fiserv said.
Fiserv Health supplies health plan management, claims processing, and administration services for self-funded medical, dental, vision, and disability plans.
