Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. has promoted Robert Arena to senior vice president of retail investment product management in its U.S. wealth management division.
Mr. Arena is responsible for the strategy, development, and management of retail investment businesses within the insurer's individual annuities, retail mutual funds, 529 college savings program, offshore operations, and Hartford Investment Canada Corp. These businesses collectively managed $164 billion of assets at Dec. 31, the company said on Thursday.
He joined Hartford in 2004 as vice president of annuity product management. He was appointed a senior vice president of retail product management in July.
Earlier, he had been a senior vice president in charge of product management at American Skandia/Prudential, the individual annuities division of Prudential Financial Inc.
