Hedge fund asset values rose slightly in September, according to monthly data released Friday.

The CSFB/Tremont Hedge Fund Index was up 1.01% last month. Oliver Schupp, president of Credit Suisse First Boston Tremont Index LLC, said the increase was in line with corporate earnings' continuing their positive trend in September. He said the long/short equity strategy rose 2.36%.
