In Brief: Lazard Hires Two Offitbank Execs

NEW YORK - Lazard Asset Management has announced the hiring of two executives from Offitbank to run its fixed-income products.

The firm said on Monday that it has hired Steven Blitz, who now leads the team managing Lazard's core and core-plus fixed-income portfolios, and J. William Charlton to head U.S. high-yield fixed income. Both appointments took effect immediately.

Mr. Blitz had worked at Offitbank since 1989, most recently as its chief strategist and manager of its $4 billion core and core-plus fixed-income products.

Mr. Charlton joined Offitbank in 1990 and led a group managing nearly $2 billion of separate high-yield mandates.

Lazard Asset Management manages $56 billion for institutional and private clients globally, including more than $9 billion of fixed-income assets. Lazard, whose roots date from 1848, offers a variety of financial advisory and related services to its clients.
