Mellon Financial Corp. has announced the hiring of Erik Knutzen to be director of sales, marketing, and client service for its Standish Mellon Asset Management subsidiary.
He reports to Mitchell Harris, the unit's chief executive officer, and is to oversee Standish Mellon's business development and relationship management employees, the company said Wednesday.
Mr. Knutzen came to Standish Mellon from Garret Capital Management LLC, a hedge fund company he founded and managed for the past year. Previously, he worked at Putnam Investments for nine years, where his roles included managing director of institutional portfolio management and investment service, as well as managing director of client service and sales support.
Standish Mellon, which is based in Boston and has offices in Pittsburgh and San Francisco, sells customized solutions to investors across a broad spectrum of fixed-income capabilities.
