Northern Trust has announced the hiring of Mark S. Doherty to run institutional custody sales in the northeastern United States for its institutional asset servicing business.

Mr. Doherty is to be based in Northern Trust's Connecticut office, the company said Wednesday.
He has held senior institutional sales and relationship management posts at State Street Corp. and Bank of New York Co. and for the past three years was a vice president of business development in the Northeast for Bank of New York.
