In Brief: Online Auto Lender Has Web Voice System

A click-to-talk feature on Esurance Inc.'s Web site connects customers to agents of the online auto insurer by ordinary telephone or a PC-to-phone link.

eStara Inc. of Reston, Va., provides the technology for the San Francisco company, which has been using the service for several months but announced it in a press release Monday.

The system seems to make customers more likely to contact it and raises conversion rates, Esurance said Monday. The company is a subsidiary of White Mountains Insurance Group Ltd.
