In Brief: ProShares Starts 22 ETFs on Amex

ProShares Inc. has unveiled 22 exchange-traded funds on the American Stock Exchange.

The new funds, benchmarked to 11 Dow Jones U.S. sector indexes, are the first designed to offer short or magnified exposures to specific market sectors, the company said on Thursday.

Adding the sector funds gives ProShares a family of 40 ETFs, it said. Eleven new UltraShort Sector ProShares are designed to double the inverse of the daily performance of the indexes underlying the funds' benchmarks. The Ultra Sector ProShares are designed to double the daily performance of their applicable indexes before fees and expenses.
