In Brief: Scottrade Office Targets Chinese Speakers

Scottrade, a St. Louis online and branch-supported brokerage company, announced Tuesday that it will open an office in Flushing, N.Y., to cater to Chinese-speaking customers.

The office, which is to open next Monday, would be Scottrade's fourth Chinese-speaking branch and its first in New York. The other three are in California at San Francisco, San Gabriel, and Rowland Heights. The offices are staffed by brokers fluent in Chinese and English.

In addition to the new Flushing site, Scottrade has 14 branches in New York State and 275 overall.

Scottrade also has a Chinese version of its Web site, chinese.scottrade.com, and a Chinese-language trading platform available to customers in the United States, Hong Kong, China, and Taiwan.

Separately, Scottrade announced that it plans to open an office in Jupiter, Fla., on Monday - its 23rd in Florida.
