NEW YORK — SunGard Trading and Risk Systems, an operating group of SunGard Data Systems Inc., said Friday that it had acquired Alpha-Numeric Developments Ltd., a credit risk software development and consulting business in Oxford, England.

SunGard plans to use the Alpha-Numeric group to enhance the research, development, and implementation of Credient, SunGard’s service for global credit risk management and control. The Alpha-Numeric employees will continue to work in the Oxford office, focusing on the development, quality assurance, and professional services of Credient.
