In Brief: SunTrust Closes Robinson-Humphrey Deal

ATLANTA — SunTrust Banks Inc. has acquired the institutional business of Robinson-Humphrey Co. from Citigroup Inc.’s Salomon Smith Barney division for an undisclosed price.

SunTrust said late Thursday that it has combined Robinson-Humphrey with its other investment banking operations under the name SunTrust Robinson Humphrey Equity Capital Markets.

Tom Tracy, who had been chief executive of Robinson-Humphrey, was named CEO of the new division, which has 700 employees.
