Swift, the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication, has elected as its board chairman Yawar Shah, a JPMorgan Chase & Co. executive.
Mr. Shah, who had been deputy chairman of the Swift board, succeeds Jaap Kamp. Mr. Kamp, an executive with ABN Amro Holding NV, had been the chairman of the Brussels-based organization's board for 12 years.
Mr. Shah is a JPMorgan Chase's global operations executive and the head of the New York company's worldwide securities services. His election as chairman of the Swift board was announced Thursday.
