Wachovia's wealth management division on Tuesday named Curt Farmer wealth management director for the Carolinas, succeeding Bob Newell, who was named president of Wachovia Trust in August.
Mr. Farmer is to be responsible for delivering investment management, financial and tax planning, trust and estate services, insurance, charitable, and private banking services in North Carolina and South Carolina.
He joined Wachovia in 1985 as a securities trading manager for the brokerage services unit. He was a commercial relationship manager for the general banking group from 1989 through 1992, when he took charge of wealth management in Winston-Salem, N.C.
After the merger of First Union and Wachovia in 2001, Mr. Farmer was named wealth management director for Pennsylvania/Delaware. In January 2004, he returned to the Carolinas as managing executive of sales and marketing at Wachovia Trust.
